Initial Visit/Consultation:

(new patients, ~75min): $425

Your initial visit is a consultation to complete a comprehensive diagnostic assessment of your mental health needs and to determine whether my services are a good fit to address your needs. Sometimes additional appointments are necessary to complete the assessment depending on the complexity of your problems and the efficiency of our communication. This consultation period is also an opportunity for you to decide whether you would like to work with me. At the end of the assessment, I will collaborate with you to develop a treatment plan to best address your presenting problems. A treatment plan may include prescribing medication, providing psychotherapy, suggesting behavioral modifications, recommending medical evaluations including labwork, or other services or resources as indicated. A treatment plan may also include referrals to other providers such as medical specialists, psychotherapists, programs, or other services to meet your individual needs. Please do not expect that controlled substances, including benzodiazepines (such as Xanax, Klonopin, or Valium) and stimulants (such as Adderall or Ritalin) will be prescribed at the first visit.

Medication Management:

(established patients, 30 min): $225

During follow up visits for medication management, we will review how the treatment plan is working for you and make any needed adjustments. This is the ideal time to discuss your progress, side effects, and any new needs. These appointments are about a lot more than just managing your medications. They are a chance for you to share your problems, as well as your successes. We will also work together to find non-pharmacological approaches to helping you thrive. As in the initial consultation, I may make specific recommendations or referrals to best help you. For these sessions, it important that you come prepared and share with me your values and goals so we can make this limited time as productive as possible. These sessions are flexible, and if you would like more time with me, just ask before scheduling!

(established patients, 45-50 min): $260

There is rarely a magic pill that will dissolve away all our struggles, and psychotherapy is a subtle yet powerful process that can bring about lasting change. Many of my patients are reluctant to engage in psychotherapy, but those that do rarely, if ever, regret it. If we agree that I will provide regularly scheduled psychotherapy to you, please be aware that psychotherapy involves a significant amount of time, money, and energy, so you should be very careful about committing to this treatment. Depending on your background, psychotherapy can often elicit confrontation with difficult issues, and it is common to feel somewhat worse before feeling significantly better. My approach to psychotherapy is not simply to support you, although I may do that at times. Rather, I hope to challenge you to be a more conscious person, conscious of the forces at play in your inner world, and conscious of how you relate to your outer world and the people in it.
